Indian Oil’s Panipat Refinery is located in Panipat, Haryana, India. It was set up in 1998. Expanding its presence in petrochemical space, Indian Oil has commissioned a Naphtha Cracker Complex adjacent to Panipat refinery complex at a project cost of Rs 14439 crores in 2006. It produces Ethylene and propylene which are further used to produce polymers like Poly propylene, Low/High density polyethylene and mono ethylene glycol. Engineers India Ltd were the Project Management Consultants and Samsung Engineering were the EPC Contractors on the project. Due to the magnitude of the project various turnkey contractors were appointed for the project – Bridge and Roof Company, Indian Oil and Tanking Ltd and Toyo Engineering India Ltd. Newkem worked along with all of them across various units in the refinery including the VDU /CDU unit to deliver Hydrocarbon Fire Protection System – M-II and Thermal Insulation to the various structures, vessels, equipment, spheres and pipelines in the project. This project was completed on schedule and the efforts and quality of work by Newkem was appreciated.
